The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is an executive branch agency responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of a safe, efficient multi-modal transportation system throughout Kentucky.

The cabinet manages more than 27,000 miles of highways, including roughly 20,500 miles of secondary roads, 3,600 miles of primary roads, and more than 1,400 interstate and parkway miles.  The cabinet also provides direction for 230 licensed airports and heliports and oversees all motor vehicles and drivers licensure for more than three million drivers in Kentucky.

The new 400,000 square foot headquarters building for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) located in Frankfort, KY was completed in 2002.  The building has six floors which includes 1,200 workstations, 100+ private offices, numerous training and conference rooms, reception areas on each floor, a call center, 32 file rooms, a board room, and floor to ceiling panels throughout.

Systems Design, Inc. provided programming services including a review of the architectural plans and locating the furniture within the plan.  We utilized Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) for their work.  Project management work included order placement based upon specifications, receiving, warehousing, and delivery of furniture by our certified installers.

We provided Knoll Morrison workstations and Knoll Reff for the private offices.  The floor to ceiling panels were manufactured by Inscape.  The reception room furniture was provided by Lowenstein, the conference room tables were manufactured by Knoll Reff and the chairs were Keilhauer.  Humanscale provided the task chairs and TAB Products supplied the movable file systems.
